The idea
World Signal Monitor connects data, transparent analysis and the evidence behind the numbers. It helps readers explore a statistic, understand what it measures, follow its history and make a valid comparison.
The published geographic profiles cover 217 reporting economies. Europe and Asia follow a reviewed reporting-economy register, alongside the United States and Canada. A reviewed public catalog sits above a private semantic data hub that preserves source records, definitions, mappings, observation revisions and publication rights.
Useful rather than universal
A smaller collection with clear meaning is more useful than a large one with uncertain joins. The monitor begins with national population, economic output, prices, labor-market indicators and life expectancy. Observation availability varies by country and indicator. Broader coverage follows the same reviewed measurement definitions.
Geographic coverage
All non-aggregate World Bank reporting economies are joined to UN M49 statistical geographic regions, not political membership. North America includes UN Northern America, Central America and Caribbean areas; South America is the UN South America intermediate region. Channel Islands and Kosovo are explicit supplemental World Bank reporting economies grouped in Europe. Country/area labels do not assert sovereignty. Region pages group individual economies without fabricating continental aggregates.

Independent and inspectable
The monitor is an independent publication. Official publishers supply the underlying observations; linked methods and source records explain how the data was produced. Platform calculations carry their own formulas and input release identities.
